The traditional Onion Fair of Portalegre opened on September 10th with the opening of the exhibitors and the venue, also featuring the performance of Farra Fanfarra Party Brass Band. The event was attended by the Mayor of Portalegre, Fermelinda Pombo Carvalho, and by the Secretary of State for Agriculture, João Moura. The Vice-president of the Farmers' Association also attended the opening ceremony.
