Melissa Maia, cyclist from Aveiro, will represent Portugal at the XCM World Championship (Cross Country Marathon), which is taking place in Italy. This is another outstanding international participation for the Aveiro athlete in the long-distance mountain bike circuit.
In addition to Melissa Maia, the Portuguese selection for this competition includes three other athletes: José Dias, Guilherme Mota and Diogo Graça. The four cyclists represent Portugal in this elite event on the XCM world calendar.
The XCM World Championship is one of the most prestigious endurance mountain bike competitions, bringing together the best world athletes in the marathon discipline on dirt roads. The event in Italy is one of the main goals of the season for the selected Portuguese athletes.
