CPI to Neves. Chega only partially alters the PAR requirements

Observador10 September 2026 at 13:32

The Chega party responded to Aguiar-Branco's dispatch, which had identified "insufficiencies" in the request submitted by the party for the creation of a Parliamentary Committee of Inquiry (CPI) related to Neves. In its response, Chega made changes to part of the requirements initially presented in its PAR.

However, the party refused to accept some of the requests made by Aguiar-Branco, maintaining its position regarding certain aspects of the original request. This intermediate stance by Chega reflects a strategy of partial compromise.

Aguiar-Branco's dispatch had emphasized that Chega's request contained gaps that needed to be corrected for the CPI to proceed. André Ventura's party chose to modify only part of the requirements, without fully yielding to the identified requests.

Oncology in Portalegre: Movement in defense of Rui Dinis moves forward with exhibition and silent march

The movement "Valorizar Quem Cuida" (Value Those Who Care), which brings together oncology patients, family members and friends in Portalegre, announced new protest actions against the reorganization of the Oncology Service at Hospital Doutor José Maria Grande, if no responses are received by September 17. The group is preparing to send an exhibition to municipalities, deputies, the Ministry of Health and other entities, and threatens to hold a silent march from Praça da República to the hospital. The main concern relates to the possible reduction of activity of oncologist Rui Dinis, whom patients consider essential for the inland region, where they already face difficulties accessing healthcare and are forced to travel to other parts of the country for treatment.
