EU gains access to Anthropic's most powerful model after three months

Euronews Portugal10 September 2026 at 12:40

The European Union, through the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity ENISA, obtained access to Anthropic's Mythos 5 model, one of the most advanced artificial intelligence models in existence. Access was granted three months after the model's initial launch for selected partners.

Mythos 5 has disruptive cyber capabilities, which makes ENISA's access particularly significant for European digital defense strategies. The agency will be able to use the model to strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities.

The partnership between ENISA and Anthropic represents an important step in integrating advanced AI technologies into European institutions. The three-month delay compared to the first partners suggests a specific negotiation process for government institutions.
