Orcas: keeping your distance is the best thing to do when encountering them

Keeping your distance is the best attitude when encountering orcas in the sea, regardless of whether they are playing or not. These creatures, due to their size and intelligence, are considered the queens of the seas, occupying the top of the food chain and being predators against which even the great sharks are no match. When orcas appear, sharks move away.

Although orcas do not see humans as prey, they remain wild animals and can be dangerous if someone insists on contact. In the sea, they have no natural predator, with humans being their only enemy.

Orcas can reach an average of eight meters in length and their teeth can grow up to ten centimeters. They inhabit all the oceans of the world and are extremely social creatures, forming tight-knit groups led by females and communicating in a complex way.
