Vasco presented a purchase offer to Tottenham, of England, for striker Richarlison. The proposal was 10 million euros (R$ 60 million) for 50% of the player's economic rights, with payment in installments over five years, starting in 2027. Tottenham, on the other hand, wanted 20 million euros for 100% of the rights, and Vasco would try to negotiate if the same installment plan was applied to the total value.
In the middle of negotiations, Richarlison surprised Vasco by informing that he would choose to go to court to request contract termination. The player preferred to be free to defend the club for six months, until the end of the year. The striker had been sidelined by Tottenham after asking to be transferred.
Vasco considers that the legal dispute is bad for the outcome of the deal. Tottenham has already indicated that it will not give in to Richarlison's claim. The player's legal department signaled the termination move, as reported by journalist Thiago Asmar.
