Russian tennis player Karen Khachanov qualified today for the second time for the semifinals of the US Open. His passage to the next round was due to the retirement of Belgian Alexander Blockx during the match.
Alexander Blockx is from Belgium and was the defeated finalist of the Estoril Open. Blockx's retirement allowed Khachanov to advance in the tournament without needing to complete the match.
This is the second time Khachanov has reached the US Open semifinals, demonstrating consistency on the American hard court surface. The Russian thus continues in the last Grand Slam of the season.
