Karen Khachanov advanced to the US Open semi-finals for the third time in his career at a Grand Slam. The Russian player, currently ranked 50th in the ATP rankings, defeated Alexander Blockx under particular circumstances - the 19-year-old Belgian young player retired during the third set, when Khachanov was already leading by two sets to zero. This was a significant comeback for Khachanov, who had not reached this stage of a Grand Slam since 2022. Blockx, who was playing his first US Open in his career, had to retire due to physical problems during the match.
