Spanish intelligence services warned Morocco and the Spanish Government about several calls on social media that aimed to carry out entries into Ceuta. The alert was issued before the events of July 30.
The calls were spread through groups on social media, which gathered around 180,000 people. These groups served as a platform to organize and mobilize people for the entry attempts into the Spanish city.
The documents revealing this alert were known this Wednesday, allowing us to understand that Spanish and Moroccan authorities had prior knowledge of the plans through information collected by Spanish secret services.
