Peñíscola celebrates with devotion the day of the Virgin of Ermitana despite the rain

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General9 September 2026 at 19:01

Peñíscola celebrated with devotion this Wednesday the day in honor of its patron saint, the Virgen de Ermitana, facing the rain. The city mobilized for the religious festivity dedicated to its holy patron.

In the morning, during the eucharist celebration at the hermitage, raindrops appeared, but that did not prevent the faithful from participating in the mass. The rain failed to discourage the residents of Peñíscola.

Despite the adverse weather conditions, the procession to the City Hall was held. The participants demonstrated their devotion to the Virgen de Ermitana, facing the raindrops during the route.
