The VII Meeting "Tribute to Migrations" will take place next September 11th, at 8pm, at the Auditorium of the Municipal Garden in Funchal, Madeira. The event is promoted by the Association Diaspora in the World (ADNM) and has the support of the Funchal City Council, with free entry open to the entire community.
The meeting brings together more than 16 representations of foreign communities residing in Portugal, in a show that includes music, dance, traditions and artistic expressions. Among the invited artists are Alebrije – Mexican Folklore in Portugal, Patche Di Rima from Guinea-Bissau, Roni de Melo from Brazil, and the international duo Sandra&Ricardo, among other groups.
Throughout the evening, 15 countries will be represented: Brazil, Cuba, Venezuela, Egypt, England, Dominican Republic, Guinea-Bissau, Mexico, France, Chile, Argentina, South Africa, Romania, Spain and Italy, offering a cultural journey through different parts of the world.
The president of ADNM, Lúcia Gomes, stated that the event is a celebration of the diversity that enriches the Region, emphasizing that difference brings people together and that each community contributes to a more inclusive, plural and supportive Madeira. The meeting is hosted by Carlos Nené Pereira.
