The Government does not rule out distributing Ceuta migrants among the autonomous communities

El Periódico Mediterráneo - General9 September 2026 at 18:32

The president of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sánchez, guaranteed this Wednesday that the Executive "does not rule out any option" regarding the migratory situation in Ceuta, including the possibility of distributing migrants among the autonomous communities. Sánchez made these declarations during a response to the press about migratory pressure in the Spanish city.

The leader also defended the need to have reception facilities with greater capacity to respond to episodes of migratory pressure. This position arises in a context of significant increase in migratory flow at the southern Spanish border.

The distribution of migrants across different autonomous communities would be an extraordinary measure to manage the massive arrival of people to the autonomous city of Ceuta, which is under special pressure due to its geographical location in North Africa. The central Government states that it is evaluating all possibilities to deal with this situation.

"Avante!", celebrating real genocides since 1931

Alberto Gonçalves analyses the apparent contradiction of comedians and artists who refused to participate in a festival with Jerry Seinfeld, criticizing him for alleged controversial positions, but who simultaneously attended editions of the "Avante!" festival, organized by the Portuguese Communist Party, arguing that this event celebrates real genocides since 1931. The commentator highlights what he considers to be selective hypocrisy of these artists in their condemnation of certain figures while participating in an event associated with Stalinist regimes responsible for millions of deaths.
