Voters with fibromyalgia will have priority service during elections in Piauí

Portal O Dia9 September 2026 at 15:31

Voters with fibromyalgia will have priority service during elections in Piauí. The measure was taken by the Regional Electoral Court of Piauí (TRE-PI) and is considered unprecedented in the state.

The decision follows a request from the Association of Fibromyalgia Patients of Piauí (Fibropi), which sought the court to guarantee rights for those with the disease during the electoral process.

Fibromyalgia is a chronic syndrome characterized by widespread body pain, fatigue, and localized sensitivity. Patients with the condition frequently face difficulties in standing in prolonged lines and in static positions.

With this measure, people diagnosed with fibromyalgia will be able to receive priority service at voting locations, avoiding the need for long waiting periods.

"Avante!", celebrating real genocides since 1931

Alberto Gonçalves analyses the apparent contradiction of comedians and artists who refused to participate in a festival with Jerry Seinfeld, criticizing him for alleged controversial positions, but who simultaneously attended editions of the "Avante!" festival, organized by the Portuguese Communist Party, arguing that this event celebrates real genocides since 1931. The commentator highlights what he considers to be selective hypocrisy of these artists in their condemnation of certain figures while participating in an event associated with Stalinist regimes responsible for millions of deaths.
