Argentine Leo Messi, considered by many the best footballer of all time, reached a preliminary agreement to become the largest shareholder of CD Eldense, a club from the Spanish Segunda División. The operation was reported by Radio Marca and surprised all of Spanish football.
The TH group, which owned the Alicante club with Carolina Holguín as president and Juan Carlos Trujillo as chief executive, completed the sale of the azulgrana side to the current Inter Miami player. The deal was closed for a value much higher than what the Colombian group paid just 11 months ago.
Almost a year ago, the TH group bought Eldense from local businessman Pascual Pérez. Now, with this transaction, Messi becomes the new face in command of the club, marking a new era for the Alicante formation.
