Madeira will follow the IRS reduction announced by Prime Minister Luís Montenegro. The announcement was made by the President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, to journalists during a visit to the works for the requalification of the Basic and Secondary School Dr. Ângelo Augusto da Silva.
The Madeiran government will maintain the 30% differential in income taxes up to the 9th bracket, following the same line of fiscal policy that has been practiced in the autonomous region.
Miguel Albuquerque also revealed that tax collection in Madeira has been rising, contradicting initial forecasts. The official recalled that "we usually tend to accommodate" these measures, suggesting a prudent approach in the adoption of fiscal changes.
