Minister Maria da Graça Carvalho stated that the State's acquisition of 13.7% of REN's capital increases the State's capacity to influence the company from within. This position was expressed during a parliamentary hearing.
The government official explained that this acquisition was one of the objectives of the Prime Minister Luís Montenegro's visit to China last year, revealing the strategic importance that this operation had for the Executive.
