Andrei Rodrigues, director-general of the Federal Police, appealed to Supreme Court (STF) Minister Flávio Dino to try to return to his position within the scope of the inquiry that investigates whether money from parliamentary amendments was used to finance the film "Dark Horse", which tells the political trajectory of former president Jair Bolsonaro.
Andrei had been removed from the position on Tuesday by STF Minister André Mendonça. In the request presented to Dino, the delegate argued that the measure could "interfere" with the selection of the team responsible for investigating the feature film, mainly at this time when the PF received the files from the São Paulo Civil Police inquiry.
The São Paulo authorities had collected documents and devices from people responsible for the film's production in June. Andrei also argued that his removal could "delay" the investigation and "impact" this year's elections.
Flávio Dino overruled André Mendonça's decision and accepted Andrei's request on Wednesday, allowing the director-general to resume his duties.
