The Minister of Energy ruled out the possibility of fixing fuel prices, stating that this measure should only be taken as a last resort. The person responsible for the energy sector argued that this is not the appropriate approach to face current challenges.
According to the minister, the Government's policy to address the increase in fuel prices is based on supporting specific sectors of the economy, rather than generalized price control measures.
The executive estimates that the VAT refund on fuels will cost 1.3 billion euros for the State Budget. This support measure aims to mitigate the impact of high fuel prices on consumers and businesses.
