The limits for awarding public contracts through direct award and prior consultation will increase from October 1st, the date the revised Public Contracts Code (CCP) comes into force. This change comes within the scope of an update to public procurement rules.
In the acquisition of goods and services, direct award, which allows the invitation to a single entity, may exceed the previously established limits. This procurement modality is frequently used for lower value acquisitions.
The revision of the CCP aims to simplify public procurement procedures, allowing greater flexibility to public bodies in choosing their suppliers. The new limits apply to both goods and services acquisition contracts.
