The Liberal Initiative (IL) in Madeira criticized the way the Regional Government has been conducting the process of defining the regional minimum wage for 2027. Through a statement, the party considered that the regional executive did not consult social partners before announcing the proposed value.
The announcement of a regional minimum wage of 1,050 euros was made by the regional secretary of Economy and by the president of the Regional Government of Madeira. The IL emphasizes that this value was set without any prior consultation with social partners.
The liberal party also warned that this announcement was made even before the national minimum wage for the next year was set, which for the IL demonstrates a lack of transparency and institutional dialogue in the process.
