2026 election cheat sheet: see voting order in the ballot box and what positions are at stake

oglobo9 September 2026 at 13:03

Brazil's Electoral Court allows voters to bring an "electoral cheat sheet" with candidates' numbers written down to make voting easier. In the 2026 elections, citizens will vote in the following order: first for federal deputies, then for state or district deputies, followed by two senators, and finally for president of the Republic.

The first round of elections is scheduled for October 4, running from 8 AM to 5 PM according to Brasília time. If no presidential candidate receives more than half of the valid votes, a second round will be held on October 25.

To vote, the Superior Electoral Court recommends the mandatory presentation of an official photo ID. Accepted documents include identity cards, photo driver's licenses, military service certificates (for men), work permits, and passports.

The commentator highlights what he considers to be selective hypocrisy of these artists in their condemnation of certain figures while participating in an event associated with Stalinist regimes responsible for millions of deaths.
