Norway's new king's cousin donates 116.7 thousand euros to candidates in Brazil's elections
Haakon Lorentzen, 72, is a cousin of Haakon 8th, who took the throne of Norway last month. Lorentzen has lived in Brazil since he was three months old.
He financed political campaigns of candidates in four Brazilian states: Rio, Bahia, Sergipe, and Maranhão. The total amount donated was 116.7 thousand euros.
The donation was revealed in a context of interest in the connection between the Norwegian royal family and Brazil, the country where Lorentzen has lived for most of his life.
