The Second Chamber of the STF formed a majority in just nine minutes on Tuesday to uphold the decision by Minister André Mendonça that determined the removal of Andrei Rodrigues from the directorate-general of the Federal Police. The trial began at 10am, and Mendonça voted to uphold his own decision. Then Gilmar Mendes requested more time for analysis, but ministers can present votes anyway, which occurred with Luiz Fux and Kassio Nunes Marques, who joined Mendonça, all the statements happening until 10:09am.

The removal of Andrei Rodrigues was determined by illegal monitoring and disclosure of classified information. Mendonça's decision remains valid while the case is paralyzed, with no defined deadline to be resumed.

The Advocacia-Geral da União challenged Mendonça's decision in a motion presented to the presiding justice of the Court, Edson Fachin, who gave until Friday for Mendonça to respond about the motion.

Alberto Gonçalves analyses the apparent contradiction of comedians and artists who refused to participate in a festival with Jerry Seinfeld, criticizing him for alleged controversial positions, but who simultaneously attended editions of the "Avante!" festival, organized by the Portuguese Communist Party, arguing that this event celebrates real genocides since 1931. The commentator highlights what he considers to be selective hypocrisy of these artists in their condemnation of certain figures while participating in an event associated with Stalinist regimes responsible for millions of deaths.
