Josep Lluís Trapero presented his resignation this Wednesday as director general of the Catalan Police, after two years in office. The information was announced at a press conference by the interior minister of the Generalitat, Núria Parlon.
At the same conference, Parlon stated that she would have liked Trapero to have continued in office, highlighting the good work he carried out during his term. The minister did not specify the reasons for the resignation.
Commissioner Ferrán López will be the new director general of the Catalan Police. In turn, Commissioner Sílvia Catà will assume the position of head of the Mossos d'Esquadra, the Catalan autonomous police.
