The education unions in the Castelló region increased pressure this Wednesday against the Department of Education at the start of the school year, accusing President Juanfran Pérez Llorca of "hiding" from teachers after protests recorded the previous day during official events in Castelló and Vall d'Uixó.
The union STEPV considered that the last-minute choice of an inland municipality with fewer than a thousand inhabitants to hold the official start-of-course event responds to a strategy to avoid new mobilizations, criticizing the lack of transparency and dialogue on the part of the educational authorities.
The union organizations keep open the possibility of reactivating the education strike if no significant advances are recorded in negotiations with the department, thus threatening new conflict in the sector during the current school year.
