D. Pedro IV's heart returns to be displayed for only three days

The heart of D. Pedro IV returned to be exhibited to the public, but only for three days. This limited exhibition represents a rare opportunity for those interested in seeing this historic organ.

The heart of the former Portuguese monarch has been kept since 1937 in the mausoleum of the Church of Lapa. For decades, the organ remained stored, away from public view.

In 2022, the heart was exhibited and attracted about 10,000 visitors, demonstrating the significant interest of the population in this historic reliquary. This previous exhibition showed the mobilization potential that this museological piece still possesses.

The new exhibition limited to only three days contrasts with the interest revealed in 2022, when thousands of people wanted to see the heart of the king who became known as the "King of Liberties."
