Finland concluded the construction of a 200-kilometre fence on its border with Russia. The fence was erected along parts of Finland's longest land border with Russian territory.
Finnish authorities in Helsinki stated that the fence will help protect what is described as NATO's longest border. The construction of this barrier comes in a context of growing concern over hybrid actions by Russia.
There is also concern about the possibility of migration being used as an instrument of pressure against Finland. The country has thus reinforced its defenses on the eastern border since joining NATO in 2022, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
