The sporting director of Bayern Munich, Max Eberl, denied that Michael Olise expressed any interest in leaving the club during the last transfer window. In an interview with the newspaper Sport Bild, the director stated that the French player made contact to discuss a possible exit, despite rumors placing him in Real Madrid's sights. According to Eberl, the only contact he had with the player during the World Cup was actually quite calm, although it caused a moment of concern for the director.
The Bayern professional recounted that he received a message from Olise during the World Cup and hesitated before opening it, imagining that the forward might be about to communicate his desire to leave Bayern. Eberl revealed that he got scared when he saw the message arrive during the competition, fearing that the player was about to communicate a decision to leave. However, upon opening the message, he discovered it was just a photo with Manu Koné, another player, with no transfer request whatsoever.
The director clarified that Olise never asked to leave the club, stating emphatically that the Frenchman never expressed this desire "whatsoever, not even once." Eberl's interview comes amid rumors about Olise's future, especially after the transfer window in which the player's name was speculated at major European clubs.
