The Unidade Local de Saúde da Lezíria (ULS Lezíria) promoted on October 8th its first Health Literacy Meeting, which took place at the Auditorium of the School of Health Sciences of Santarém (ESSS). The event brought together almost 200 people, including health professionals, academics and other stakeholders interested in the topic.
The meeting was organized in partnership with the School of Health Sciences of Santarém, part of the Polytechnic University of Santarém, and with the Academic Network for Health Literacy, reinforcing collaboration between health and education institutions in promoting this area.
The event had the theme "Knowledge that empowers, literacy that transforms", a theme that aims to raise awareness about the importance of informing and empowering citizens in health matters, allowing them to make more informed and autonomous decisions regarding their healthcare.
