Vasco da Gama drew nil-nil with Independiente Santa Fe in the first leg of the Copa Sudamericana quarter-finals. The match took place at El Campín Stadium in Bogotá, Colombia, with neither team managing to score.
With this goalless result, the tie remains open and will be decided in the second leg, to be held at São Januário in Rio de Janeiro, where Vasco will play at home.
The Brazilian side needed a positive result away from home to gain an advantage before the decisive match, but left Bogotá with no goals scored or conceded, leaving everything to play for in the return fixture.
