The presidential candidate for PL, Flavio Bolsonaro, expanded the offensive against Minister Alexandre de Moraes during the September 7th event. However, his campaign assesses that this hardening could alienate part of the electorate that has not yet decided on a vote.
According to members of the campaign, the confrontation with Moraes is an important tool to keep the Bolsonaro base mobilized, formed by voters who identify with a more combative discourse. The problem is that it is also necessary to advance on a contingent that has not yet joined the candidacy and may react negatively to a new escalation between the Executive and the Judiciary.
This undecided electorate is especially relevant in a race that is shaping up to be tight. In the most recent rounds of the Quaest survey, Minas Gerais registers 15% of voters without a defined candidate, Sao Paulo shows 12% undecided, and Rio de Janeiro has 9%. These three states are some of the largest electorates in the country and are considered important for the campaign's strategy.
