Flávio Bolsonaro's (PL) campaign begins this Wednesday a new phase of its strategy to try to turn Lula's narrowing lead in the polls into a turnaround in the presidential race. After the Quaest consultancy showed a numerical tie between the two in a potential runoff, the campaign headquarters decided to expand the focus on cost of living and public security and intensify the search for independent voters.
The first move will be in Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, where the senator arrives in the morning and participates in a motorbike caravan of about ten kilometers. He will then hold a campaign rally on an electric trio float at the intersection of Halfeld and Batista de Oliveira streets, in the city center.
The location choice is deliberate. This is the same spot where Jair Bolsonaro was stabbed during the 2018 presidential campaign, one of the most symbolic moments in the father's political trajectory. The strategy allows Flavio to draw on this defining moment while seeking to expand his reach among voters.
The sequence of trips to priority states will be combined with new campaign materials, seeking to consolidate the poll gains and convert them into actual advantage in the presidential race.
