The Supreme Court of Victoria, in Australia, dismissed the case filed by the Australian company Lighthouse Corporation against Timor-Leste. The decision was announced by the Timorese government.
The case concerned an alleged contract for the supply of fuel and generators. The Australian company had filed the legal action against the Timorese state.
With the dismissal of the case, Timor-Leste comes out favored in this legal dispute that had been dragging on in the Australian judicial system. The Government of Timor-Leste celebrated the decision as a victory in the foreign court.
