Emotize, from the limit to care: the story behind the app

oglobo8 September 2026 at 23:47

Diego Rodriguez Gonçales, a lawyer and executive, is the creator of Emotize, an emotional well-being support app available on the App Store and Google Play. The app was developed from his personal experience with emotional difficulties that lasted for years.

According to his account, Gonçales experienced signs that did not clearly appear in his work routine. He says he would wake up exhausted even after sleeping eight or nine hours, cried without being able to identify a clear reason, and spent long hours on his phone seeking distraction. He also reports that anxiety attacks had accompanied him since youth, and for years he pushed forward without understanding what was happening.

He describes having spent years solving other people's problems while postponing his own. "I did everything for everyone. I solved everyone's life. Except my own," he states. This scenario led him to a point where continuing that way became impossible.

From this experience, Gonçales sought professionals and heard different opinions until arriving at the development of Emotize, an app that aims to offer support in caring for emotional health.

The code is easy, even more critical is software engineering

An opinion article reflects on the impact of Artificial Intelligence on software engineering, citing Pedro Samorrinha, a specialist with twenty years of experience in the field. According to the text, although AI agents can accelerate software development, real productivity is only achieved with rigorous development methodologies, precise requirements specification, and human validation at each stage. Samorrinha's team reports productivity improvements of 30% or more, but warns that "vibe-coding" can be risky due to model hallucinations and errors. The article concludes that if code has become easier to write, software engineering — defining precisely what to build and verifying it was well built — is today even more critical, and that the training of junior engineers is shifting from learning through programming to learning through rigorous specification.
