Finance Minister expects "at least a balanced budget" in 2026. Guarantees "robustness" of public accounts

Finance Minister, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento, stated in an interview with SIC Notícias that he expects "at least a balanced budget" in public accounts in 2026. The minister guaranteed the "robustness" of Portuguese public accounts during his intervention.

Sarmento stated that, should there be a surplus in the accounts, it "will always be relatively small." Thus, he prospects to achieve "at most a balanced budget" regarding the budget balance in 2026.
