The Lula government decided on Tuesday (8) to bring the matter before the president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), Edson Fachin, in an attempt to overturn a decision by Minister André Mendonça that removed Andrei Rodrigues from the leadership of the Federal Police. The Office of the Attorney General (AGU) filed a motion for suspension of injunction at the STF for immediate contestation of the decision.
With this type of appeal, the government manages to take the case out of Mendonça's hands and direct it to Fachin, who as president of the court is responsible for reviewing processes of this nature. The original article was exclusive for subscribers.
