The Elevador da Glória was once again in the spotlight at the municipal assembly, this time with the approval of a motion presented by Left Block. The left-wing party managed to get the document approved, which aimed to demand answers from the Municipal Council of Lisbon.
The motion was presented by BE deputy Rodrigo Machado and approved in the Metropolitan Area of Lisbon. During the vote, the Chega party reportedly got distracted, allowing the motion to pass without due attention.
The document demands that the Municipal Council of Lisbon implement a municipal support mechanism for victims and families, which works in a complementary manner to the actions of insurance companies. The aim is thus to create an additional support network for those affected.
The approved text also advocates that this support should include permanent legal, social and psychological monitoring. One of the particularities of this motion is the inclusion of victims and families residing abroad, ensuring that everyone has access to services regardless of their location.
