The president of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) and of the National Council of Justice (CNJ), Edson Fachin, declared on Tuesday that he is convinced that the Judiciary "is up to the challenges presented to it at this moment." The statement was made during the closing of the event "Integration and Good Practices: Dialogues between the CNJ and the College of Ombudsmen of the Brazilian Judiciary."

Fachin's statement comes amid the escalation of the crisis at the Supreme Court. The climate of tension was aggravated on Tuesday with the removal of the director-general of the Federal Police, Andrei Rodrigues, by order of Minister André Mendonça.

During his speech, Fachin stated that the "current days" require permanent dialogue and a response up to the challenges. "Justice will not fail constitutional legality for its duties that derive from the Federal Constitution itself," completed the president of the STF.
