Municipality of Valongo confirms two outbreaks of legionella in Sobrado and Ermesinde

The municipality of Valongo confirmed the existence of two outbreaks of legionella, one in Sobrado and another in Ermesinde. The health authorities proceeded with the detection and identification of the affected locations.

The first outbreak was detected at the Estadio de Sobrado, specifically in the male changing room designated for referees. This space was identified as a source of legionella contamination.

The second outbreak was found in the changing rooms of the D. António Ferreira Gomes School gymnasium, also in Ermesinde. This school facility was equally affected by the bacteria.

The competent authorities are monitoring the situation at both identified locations, ensuring the necessary measures to resolve the detected outbreaks and protect the health of the users of these spaces.
