OFFICIAL: Gil Vicente loan forward Carlos Eduardo to Sabah

Maisfutebol8 September 2026 at 21:38

Gil Vicente officially announced the loan of forward Carlos Eduardo to Sabah, a club from Azerbaijan. The agreement between the two clubs is valid until the end of the current sports season.

In addition to the loan, the contract includes a purchase option clause that allows Sabah to keep the player permanently. Thus, the Azerbaijani club may acquire the economic rights of the footballer after the loan period.

Carlos Eduardo, who plays as a forward at Gil Vicente, therefore leaves the Portuguese club to represent a foreign team during the current season. The player was under contract with Gil Vicente, who chose to release him temporarily so that he could have more opportunities to play in another league.

Sabah is a club based in Azerbaijan that competes in that country's professional league. The operation allows Gil Vicente to free up space in their squad and, simultaneously, keep a door open for a future financial gain should the purchase option clause be activated.

The report | Errors in both areas condemn a good Villarreal in their Champions League debut (3-2)

Villarreal CF lost 3-2 in their Champions League debut at the Westfalenstadion, home of Borussia Dortmund, in a match marked by the injustice of top-level football. Despite having been superior at times and having pushed the Germans against the ropes, errors in both areas—both defensive and offensive—condemned Iñigo Pérez's team, which ultimately failed to capitalize on their good performance in their sixth appearance in the Champions.
