The Portuguese State has once again become a shareholder of REN (Redes Energéticas Nacionais). The purchase of 13.7% of the company's shares was completed this Monday, marking the State's return to the capital of the energy networks company.
The shares were acquired from Zara owner, Spanish businessman Amancio Ortega. The operation represents a significant investment by the Portuguese State in the company that manages the country's energy infrastructures.
The exact value of the transaction was not officially revealed, remaining confidential. This acquisition returns to the State a relevant shareholder position in REN.
