Thousands of Norwegians gathered in Oslo to pay tribute to Harald V, before the funeral of the monarch. The farewell ceremony brought together a multitude in the streets of the Norwegian capital, at a moment of national unity over the loss of the king.
The president of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, is among the special guests for Harald V's funeral ceremony. His presence highlights the international importance of the event and the ties between Norway and Ukraine.
In addition to attending the funeral, Zelensky has scheduled a meeting with the Norwegian government during his visit to the Nordic country. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss Norway's continued support for Ukraine in the context of the ongoing conflict.
Harald V, who died at the age of 87, was one of Europe's longest-reigning monarchs, having reigned for more than three decades. His funeral marks the end of an era for Norway, with succession already prepared for his son, Crown Prince Haakon.
