Aridriano "Diamante" Carvalho and Paulo Henrique "PH" will face off at the Turris Invitational on November 14th at Upper Arena in Rio de Janeiro. Both are black belt jiu-jitsu practitioners and MMA athletes, competing in a matched fight in the No Gi format. The two arrive at the confrontation with the same intention: to avoid a dispute decided by scoring and to seek a submission.
Aridriano, representative of the Nova União team, started training jiu-jitsu at age 9 in Manaus. At 17, he migrated to MMA and remained undefeated for two years in the Amazonian capital. Later, he moved to Rio de Janeiro and began training at the team led by Dedé Pederneiras, who promoted him to black belt. Currently, Diamante trains alongside names like José Aldo.
Aridriano's opponent represents Charles Oliveira's team. In Diamante's view, having the former UFC champion in the opposing corner does not affect his preparation for the duel. He stated that when they talk about the opponent, the connection to the former champion's name does not change his mindset for the fight.
