The 28-year-old Bahian boxer has 11 wins in the professional circuit, with five by knockout. He is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Venezuelan Johan González in April. On the other side, Chio has 15 wins, seven knockouts, and one draw, remaining undefeated in his professional career.
The Brazilian commented on the classic Mexican style of his opponent, acknowledging the traditional fighting characteristics that Chio presents. According to Conceição, these particularities may end up favoring his own strategy in the ring.
