NR Sports, the company run by Neymar's father, is trying to sign midfielder/attacker Philippe Coutinho, 34 years old, for Santos. The player had been inactive since leaving Vasco at the beginning of this year, and represents an attempt by Neymar and his father to strengthen the club in this final stretch of the season.
The Santos board evaluates the veteran's situation and admits interest in a deal by the end of the year. However, it is Neymar who is actively driving the negotiation to bring his friend.
Neymar publicly responded to journalist Lucas Musetti on social media, calling Coutinho's arrival a "dream." The Brazilian national team's number 10 mentioned that he has already brought two reinforcements to Santos — Gabigol, who scored 20 goals, and Arthur — highlighting the desire to also count on Coutinho.
Coutinho and Neymar had a close relationship during their time together with the Brazilian national team and at Barcelona, which justifies the striker's personal interest in having the midfielder at the Brazilian club.
