The Parish Council of Avenidas Novas, in central Lisbon, closed on Thursday, September 10th, the Avenidas Hot Jazz – Jazz Festival in Lisbon. This cultural event in the capital featured Daniel Gonçalves as the central figure.

After the closing of the jazz festival, followed the Opening of the Festival da Madeira, which took place at Jardim do Arco do Cego, near the Saldanha metro station. The festival brought to Lisbon the traditions and culture of the autonomous region of Madeira.

According to Daniel Gonçalves, the people of Lisbon thus had the opportunity to celebrate Madeiran culture in the capital, as well as Portuguese cultural traditions in general. The event allowed the regional culture to come closer to the capital of the country.
