Russian President Vladimir Putin is transforming the war in Ukraine into a commercial argument for the sale of Russian weapons in the international market. Moscow's strategy aims to promote Russian military equipment as tested in real combat conditions.
Russia brought one of its main showcases to an arms fair: the Su-57, the fifth-generation fighter developed by Moscow to compete with American aircraft such as the F-35 and F-22 of the United States.
The Su-57 was designed to directly rival American fifth-generation fighters, representing one of the main advances of the Russian defense industry in the military aviation sector.
However, the real Russian commercial argument may not be in the plane itself, but in the combat experience obtained in the war in Ukraine. The fact that Russian equipment is being tested against NATO technology in real conflict conditions becomes an attraction factor for potential buyers.
