Adel Taarabt officially announced the end of his football career. The Moroccan midfielder, who became known for his creative playing style and technical skills, decided to hang up his boots after a vast career in professional football.
The player represented Benfica between 2015 and 2022, being one of the most talked-about signings of the red and white club during that period. During his years at the Estádio da Luz, Taarabt had moments of great quality, but also faced some difficulties in establishing himself consistently in the starting eleven.
Through social media, Taarabt shared a farewell message from professional football. In his words, football provided him with "incredible memories" throughout his career, showing gratitude for the experience lived on the pitches.
Taarabt began his career at Tottenham, later passing through several clubs, including Fulham, Queens Park Rangers, AC Milan and Benfica. His time in Portuguese football left marks, both through moments of brilliance and the strong personality he always showed on and off the pitch.
