In a stage of return after the rest day, the 2024 Vuelta a Burgos was marked by intense heat, wind and high pace from the start. The competition was once again dominated by the Visma-Lease a Bike formation, which had already demonstrated its strength in the previous stages.
Matthew Brennan was once again the great protagonist of the day, achieving another stage victory. The young Belgian was launched perfectly by his teammate Wout van Aert, who fulfilled the role of helper and placed the sprinter in the best position for the final sprint.
With this victory, Brennan consolidated his prominent position in the race, once again demonstrating his speed and ability to respond in decisive moments. Visma-Lease a Bike thus continued to impose its dominance on the Vuelta a Burgos.
However, the day was marked by the crash of Ivo Oliveira, who was unable to finish the stage. The Portuguese rider was one of the casualties of the competition on this demanding day, which tested the endurance of the cyclists after the rest day.
