A new trend on social media allows creating images that simulate what a person would look like if they had lived in the 1980s. Produced with artificial intelligence tools, the photos preserve the user's facial features and modify elements such as clothing, haircuts, hairstyles, and lighting to reproduce visual characteristics associated with the decade.

The trend started appearing mainly on Instagram Stories and then gained space on the feed and TikTok. The images can be produced by artificial intelligence tools like ChatGPT and Gemini, both on the website and through apps. On Instagram, in addition to a sticker available in Stories, there were at least 21 thousand posts with the hashtag #trendanos80.

According to Google, searches for the term "trend anos 80" increased 5,000% compared to the previous week, demonstrating the rapid growth of the trend's popularity. To create your own photo, you need to choose a good quality photo of yourself and send it to ChatGPT or Gemini.
